At Jared Starr Music Studio, Dr. Jared Starr provides the opportunity for children, teenagers, and adults to all discover music at a deep, meaningful level. In violin, viola, cello, piano and composition lessons, Dr. Starr focuses on guiding students to discover their fullest potential as musicians and people. In order for students to achieve their potential as musicians, Dr. Starr believes that they should strive for complete, but positive honesty in their creativity, practicing, and performing. By doing so, they can constructively recognize what they are doing well and where they can improve. With varying personalities, backgrounds, work ethics, and sets of goals, Dr. Starr teaches students vital skills in a way that is most relatable to them so that they can find their own voices in the music they create.
In addition to teaching private lessons, Dr. Starr also provides guest teaching services such as string clinics and masterclasses in the public schools, community music schools, El Sistema programs, and at universities and colleges. He enjoys performing as a professional violinist for solo violin recitals at universities, churches, and other venues along with weddings, special events, and with orchestras and chamber groups. He also enjoys composing music and arranging music for a variety of instruments.
